- DMA Design is integrated into Rockstar Games in March, becoming Rockstar North in May.
- The Nintendo GameCube released in Europe on May 3.
- The GameCube was released in Australia on May 17.
- Grand Theft Auto III is re-released for PC in May.
- Grand Theft Auto: Vice City is initially released for the PlayStation 2 in October (North America) & November (PAL).
