Misogyny still runs deep in Love Island discourse, and the reaction to Julia and Lorenzo’s split is the perfect example. Despite everyone seeing how little effort Lorenzo put in with every woman he spoke to both inside and outside the villa, Julia is the one taking the brunt of the hate. It’s so unfair that women are constantly pitted against each other when it’s clearly the men who are the problem. Julia and Jasmine are both beautiful and intelligent women who deserve so much better than to be turned into rivals over someone who wouldn’t even try. It just shows how quick people are to judge and tear women down while letting men get away with doing the bare minimum, and it really needs to stop.
