Be respectful.

Please be respectful to all users and in your comments. Debate is acceptable, even if it's about the quality or usefulness of the Zippo product, but harassing users is not.

Needlessly mean spirited posts or comments may be subject to removal by the Mods and users temporarily or permanently banned, even without warning, and your only recourse may be to deal with Reddit admins directly (good luck). Don't do anything to get perma-banned without warning.

If it's NSFW or potentially very adult or controversial (this includes heavy emphasis on drugs, suggestive nudity, and/or firearms), please flair appropriately.

Zippo lighters will have many different styles of art, photographs, engravings, etc. and while most are okay to post, we are a global community and not all things are appropriate to post without a content warning

Any blatant attempt to circumvent the spirit of the subreddit may be subject to removal of the post or banning of the user.

Self Promotion.

Users are allowed to advertise their own website or business, generally once per 24 hour period. One post here and there is fine, several a day is not. PM the Mods if you want to be safe.

Selling.

Selling is allowed on this subreddit, be it self posts or eBay listings. However, we want to limit this to one post a day AT MOST.

Sellers directly posting for-sale pictures to r/zippo must include a hand written note with their username and date at the time of posting that actually has some of the items for sale in the same picture. Sale posts may be removed at Mod discretion.

We as Mods are not responsible for what happens during these transactions. Use your best judgement.

Buying.

Buy items at your own discretion. We do not have the ability to assist or intervene if something goes awry. Buy at your own risk, use your best judgement.

7. Legitimacy Check

If you're lighter says ZIPPO on the bottom, there's a 99.9% chance it is legitimate. If you are wish to further validate it, please post in the stickied megathread at the top of the page.

Note: Moderators may manually approve individual posts if the specific example deems further discussion.
