Camera buying requests must include the questionnaire.

In an effort to curb low effort "recommend me a camera" posts camera requests must include a filled out questionnaire. Make sure to maintain the bullet pointed format for readability as it is difficult for us if your post ends up as just a wall of text.

Any post that does not follow the required format will be removed. No exceptions.

Due diligence and low effort posts.

The more context you can provide, the better we can address your issue. Many posts that try to "keep things short" leave out important information that we need to answer your questions! Give us every detail you can. If you are providing photos of a product you have questions about make sure the photos each provide meaningful information (five of the same photo doesn't help!)

Low effort posts and posts that have very easily googled or otherwise basic answers that are easily found may be removed.

No "what camera took this" posts.

We generally cannot ID a camera based on the photos/videos it produces. Almost all guesses are going to be pure speculation.

Do feel free to ask for tips on how to recreate a given style.

No spam, self promotion, or selling related posts.

Don't post links you have a financial stake in or otherwise benefit from. This includes linking to personal social media accounts, blogs, YouTube channels, etc. It also includes affiliate links. Also no posts regarding selling your gear or asking how much something is worth.

Users with the "Content Creator flair" may make posts linking to their content as long as they continue to meet the requirements outlined in the wiki page.

Memes must be tagged as such, and you must interact with the sub beyond only memes.

Meme posts must use the meme tag. If the only interactions you have with the subreddit are memes your posts may be removed.

Meme posts will not be allowed without prior legitimate contributions to this subreddit. Posts in question will be removed and only allowed after the poster has been determined to be in good standing with the community.

No trolling or bad faith recommendations.

Trolling, and bad faith recommendations (eg: someone asks for budget camera recommendations and you reply with anything Hasselblad, or a GFX) will result in a ban.

No Bullying or Harassment

This is a place to learn and discuss. Constructive criticism is encouraged and bullying/harassment will result in a ban.

We were all new shooters once, and every one of us is learning, so act like it and we can all have a good time.

No AI generated content is permitted

Generative AI has quite a few issues surrounding it. We do not allow it here.
