Welcome

I work on language technology, with a particular focus on Malayalam computing, digital typography, and tools that make software work across languages.

At Swathanthra Malayalam Computing, I lead and contribute to open-source projects for Malayalam language technology, including input methods, fonts, and language tools. I have designed Malayalam typefaces including Chilanka, Manjari, Nupuram, and Malini, and maintain a collection of other Unicode Malayalam fonts, available through the SMC website.

At the Wikimedia Foundation, I serve as Principal Software Engineer on the Language Engineering team. I work on making MediaWiki and Wikimedia projects work well across the world’s languages, including internationalization and localization, input methods, language support, fonts, and translation tools.

My work in Malayalam language computing has been recognised with the Maharshi Badrayan Vyas Samman, awarded by the President of India in 2019, and the Mathrubhasha Puraskaram from Sree Sankaracharya University of Sanskrit, Kalady.

I am also a member of the Board of Studies in Linguistics at Malayalam University.
