OpenPOWER opens further

Not the OP, just my 2c:

- x86 and ARM are much more entrenched now than a decade ago.

- POWER has faded in importance (see above).

I wish it weren't so, what POWER has been doing with open firmware etc. is pretty neat, but what realistic chance is there to turn the ship around at this point?

In addition to POWER, SPARC, MIPS, and RISC-V are also open. Except for RISC-V which seems to be getting a foothold in the low end, has opening up the ISA significantly benefited the others?
