> Testing -stable patches is definitely important. Sometimes a "trivial" fix is actually wrong and makes things worse.

What's worse, usually the breakage doesn't happen on the tester's equipment, so the "trivial" fix works for them, but breaks someone else's hardware.

When it's driver changes, this can be really hard to identify.
