FWIW, the year-and-a-half-old asus motherboard on the Ivy Bridge desktop I'm using right now has secure boot and no end-user key enrollment. However, it does have secure boot off by default (as Matthew said would be true for a desktop made in that time period), and it's easy to turn UEFI off too. So I have no real complaints on that score.
